He graduated from University College London and quickly made his way down to the south west of England where he completed both his basic and higher surgical training. He has had a close relationship with the Exeter hip unit for a number of years and has been their senior registrar, fellow and locum consultant, working alongside Messrs Gie and Timperley. In addition to his interest in arthroplasty Mr Blake also has a wealth of experience in dealing with orthopaedic trauma and has completed a dedicated trauma fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand with one of the world's most respected trauma leaders. He is organising and chairing a national symposium on lower limb peri-prosthetic fractures, which is to be held locally later this year.
